Nicole Ari Parker is an American film TV and stage actor known for her performance as the fiery attorney Teri Joseph on the Showtime show Soul Food. After her marriage she became Nikki Kodjoe. The talent she displayed in her acting was apparent since childhood. An Maryland high-school competition awarded her the top actress prize. Her career in acting started after she was employed by the Washington Ballet Company as well as theatre. She received a lot of praise after her debut large role as a character in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love. There followed films like "Boogie Nights Spark" and Blue Streak. The TV show Soul Food' was immensely loved. Her TV appearances included Second Time Around and Empire. Earlier on in her life, Parker appeared in many stages. Parker is married to Boris Kodjoe, an actor and model. The couple has two kids.
The family was born from Mumbai, India and raised in Nigeria up to the age of seven, Contractor was well-versed in traveling around the globe and in a wide range of different cultures from a young age. At the age of seven to nine, the young lady was a student at boarding schools in London. Her family moved to Toronto which she stayed in through the majority of her childhood. Contractor was an outstanding student in Toronto and was educated to become the classical ballet dancer. At the Etobicoke School of the Arts (a public high school specializing in the arts) she studied dance and theatre. Contractor began acting at age 16 after completing a total of 10 years of dance. Upon graduating from high school she accepted a full grant to attend at the University of Toronto, where she earned a master's degree in theatre and a double major in psychology and sociology. Contractor, who had spent a year in university was invited to audition in an open audition for Pericles which was held at the highly acclaimed Stratford Shakespeare Festival, [Ontario Canada] and won the part. She received rave reviews for her performances in the 92 shows performed the play was voted the production of the year by Canadian critics in 2002. She was offered the opportunity to be a part of the Stratford Conservatory. It allows only eight males and four women to study classical theater. Contractor was eager to accept. Contractor was offered a slot for the following season and was given the part as Hermia.
